I know it is best to keep temps at 78
My question is on the Apex what do you have your temp range set to?

Mine is:
on temp: 77
off temp: 79


Should I tighten the temp gap or just leave it as is?

I have the $100 calibrated thermometer from BRS so I'm very confident that the temp is 99% accurate.

What is your temp range set to?

so I think I decided on the apex classic for a controller.

spent the better part of two days up to my neck in threads reviews, you tube, websites etc.
I really like the profilux 4 but its out of my budget and as of right now cant do a a feature that i need. so all that said I thing apex classic is the "best" choice for me.

a few questions and thoughts I would like to run by the community.

I must admit I am still not 100% sure the difference between the classic and new model besides a few...

I have been working on a PCB design to interface COTS (commercial off the self) liquid level sensors from eBay with the standard IO port on the APEX (and PMx modules). So far I've got a prototype that seems to work. I need to beat on it alittle more before I move forward, but I may be offering it for sale if anyone needs one.

Still even after the new update
Apex lost connection and after 5minutus the power goes out and few seconds later everything restart EVERY SINGLE DAY i think to trow apex to the dumbster!!!
Email to apex! No answer
Ask the neptune! No answer

So my 1-link magically stopped working. The light is on on it. the power supply is plugged in. everything is plugged in. It did feel like the innards of the unit don't fit firmly in the case.

R2R family,

As several of you may know, I am one of the beta testers for the Archon. I have had my unit since December and seeing as it is still quite new and not much out there, I wanted to start a Thread where I could upload walk thru and how to videos for anyone who is looking at getting one or who already has one. So I am picking up my Apex Jr from my LFS on Thursday. Here is what I want to do.

I have a 210 with 2 300w Aqua via heaters (analog version). Only one of the heaters runs (due to my equipment in the sump which makes it's own heat), and the other is a backup. I have one set at 78 and the other around 76. This way if I see the other heater on, I know my primary has failed. However, this setup does not protect against the heaters getting stuck on.

Hey guys!

Interesting situation, I recently acquired a ReefKeeper Lite and I'm super excited to use it for the first time. One thing that I think would be cool is if I was able to monitor and adjust my settings remotely with my PC, similarly to the NET module. However, I'm also looking to use an actual PC to do some of the monitoring for my ReefTank using an Asus VivoStick (I have the Seneye as well that could benefit from using this). Is there any way to hook my PC up to the ReefKeeper...

So I need some help this advanced programming is not my strength. Here is what I have a 15 gallon container and I put a small pump at the bottom. Rather than using float switch I just program the pump to run for 1 minute from 9:00 to 9:01pm. I have found that's about the amount of water I lose each day. Well my pump comes on the set time but it runs for 2 minutes exactly, can't figure out why when I have it set for one minute. Here is a sample of what I set. Is there another way to program...

I have a 2014 Apex. It is not run via ethernet as the tank is set up in my office at work (firewall and apex do not play nicely). At any rate, sometimes after I change a parameter, I lose power to all outlets. Also, all outlets lose their location/name/program on the head unit and the only thing that is displayed for the outlets is the name 'G'. I end up having to do a factory reset and reprogramming everything. Anyone else have this experience?

Does anyone have instructions on clearing some of the data logs on my Apex? I had a faulty pH probe for a few weeks and i would like to delete that data and just start fresh. I read that a firmware update would do this so i updated but the old logs remain (apex_4.51_2E17). I also read something about Telnet but its rather confusing. Can anyone help out?

I fried the circuit board to my Tunze ATO. Can I take an Apex break box and hook to the tunze float switch and pump and make it work as an ATO. What do I do with the overflow switch. I really do not need that part but if possible I would add it also. Please share all you can. thanks

I don't think this is anything new but in my previous setup I had a float in my skimmer collection cup that would kill the skimmer if the skimmer freaked out and started pulling water. I have a smaller system now with a smaller skimmer - Curve 5. The floats are just too big to get in the collection cup. The next thing would be to put a float on an overflow container but the skimmer sits too low in the sump and the drain goes up hill before it will start draining. I covered the air inlet...

So as of 2 weeks ago the apex was a pipe dream for me. Just way out of my price range at this time! But, my wife and I went to frag swap and there was a raffle there and low and behold we won a apex system. I was by far blown away.

I was at work and got a message saying my apex has been disconnected from fusion. Left work a little early to see what was going on. Got home and my power was out. Set up my battery operated air pump and made sure my battery back up was working. Powers back on now and everything is fine. I'm so happy they added this function.
